Submitting Your Print or Copy Job
In addition to deciding the quantity, paper stock, ink colors and finishing
for your project, you should know the following information in order to
ensure the quickest turn around time for your request. A Renaissance Printing
representative will be glad to assist you in determining the following:
About Your System...
- What type of computer do you use? (PC,
Macintosh, Unix Workstation)
- What program(s) did you use to create
the document, and what were the version numbers? (To view the version,
open the program and select "About..." under the Help menu
[for Windows] or Apple Menu [for Macintosh].)
- What kind of printer do you use to proof
your documents? (HP Laserjet, Postscript, etc. - by the way, if you
need a printer driver, click here.)
About Your Files....
- What fonts did you use in your main document
and associated graphics? (Are the fonts Adobe Type 1, True Type, or
a combination of both?
- Have you included both screen and printer
fonts?)
- If you have placed graphics in your
document, have you sent the original graphics files on disk along with
the document?
- If you used color in the document, what
colors did you use and how did you specify the colors? (RGB, spot Pantone,
CMYK)
- Are included 4-color graphics pre-separated
(CMYK) or do you wish to have Renaissance Printing separate the graphics?
- Have you trapped the areas where different
colors touch or do you wish to have Renaissance Printing set the traps?
- Is your document set up to the final
trim size?
- If you have areas your in document where
ink extends to the edge of the page, did you extend the layout enough
(approximately 1/8") to allow for this?
